Gary Klutt is a rising star in the Canadian racing scene. This Halton Hills native is a speed crazed contender launched onto the scene at a young age competing in national go karting events that helped pave his way into the Canadian NASCAR circuit. In his first full year in the circuit he won the season opener race at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, placed 5th in overall standings for the season, and was named Josten’s 2015 Rookie of the Year. The start of the 2017 season brings high hopes for ‘The Smilin’ Assassin’ with sponsorship from Pioneer Family Pools, it’s clear we’ve only begun to see what this tenacious driver can do.
Starting from 4th off of the grid, Gary has an epic rain battle, losing the pace for 2 laps but with determination and incredible focus, he manages to squeeze his way past the competition. Capturing a podium finish of third place!

I’m obviously very excited to build on last year’s success as Rookie of the Year. We’re looking to win the overall Championship this year and collect as many race wins as we can along the way working off of what we learned last year in my first season racing ovals. I’m super excited to have the support of our new partner Pioneer Family Pools which allowed us to build a new car this year that we know will bring us some more speed.
I’d have to say winning the Nascar Pinty’s Series race in 2015 at Canadian Tire Motorsports park, that was when my suspicions were confirmed that I could race with, (and win) against some of the best racers in North America.
I like to sit in the Trailer, and try and quiet my mind, eat half of a banana, drink half a coffee and visualize a perfect final lap taking the checkers.
My second biggest passion is big mountain skiing, I love the feeling skiing fast gives me, it puts me in the zone much like racing but without the competition part.
Hot tub for sure! Definitely float…. I don’t think there are any Race car shaped noodles!
